Well my journey in this part of the world is over (sad face). Thursday 28 AprilIf I had one word to describe my trip to Africa it would be - 'Awesome'. Although only one word isn't enough. You have probably noticed that I enjoyed my trip immensely; some of it has been so incredible there are no words to do it justice! Monday 25 April - drive to Chipinge from Harare Chipinge (pronounced Chipingee) is a district high up in the mountains (feels like jungle), in the south eastern area of Zimbabwe; this is where the Plan (international part of Plan Australia) office is based for this region. There are over 6,000 children in this area. 4,000 of which have sponsors - Alisa (my sponsor child) is one of them. All of them go to school. The trip to this area was long and, again, bumpy....

Zimbabwe Monday 25 AprilI arrived in Harare last night about 9:45 after what seemed to be a long day - microlight in the morning, fly to Johannesburg, wait 3 hours, then fly to Harare - yep just another day! Hehe The ride from the airport to my motel was an eye opener. The driver (who is employed by the motel) was a large jolly (at first) black guy called Mike. He welcomed me then took me to his car and said "we are going to the hotel, it is not far"....

Sikulo Maliza (Happy Easter - African, Njanja). I did it! I went Microlighting - it was awesome, flew over Vic falls, saw 2 rainbows. Micro lighting - love it - without risk, there's no reward! Well the tour is almost over, it has been just the best! After spending 3 weeks with the same people all day, every day some patience can start to wear a bit thin. Easter Saturday 23 April Up at the crack of dawn (again!) off to the Lion encounter. We walked with the lions, yes I know what you're thinking - me and cats - well, in this case I made an exception. They were only 20 months old and gorgeous, I even touched them! True story! I even have a DVD to prove it and some great photos.
